The Golden Dawn Tarot cards were painted by the artist Robert Wang with the guidance of Francis Israel Regardie. The pictures on the card on based on the Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn and the notes of MacGregor Mathers. It is peculated that the fist set was painted by Mrs. Mathers whom was an artist herself and this deck was used only within the order until Wang and Regardie brought them to the public. Wang also wrote a book for the deck "Introduction to the Golden Dawn Tarot. This deck was intended to tie the individual to the many ancient teaching of the mystical hermetic order of the Golden Dawn.
