Layouts

Layouts are a personal preference and should therefore be explored or created to find a good fit, there is no correct layout just stick to the rules specified by the book or yourself before the reading begins. For instance if you say the first card turned after 3 shuffles and 3 cuts represent Sunday you cannot change it to Monday unless you change the rules and reshuffle and redeal with the new rules applying. Choosing a layout would begin with the number of cards you would like to use and using only one is always an option in fact let us start there with a few examples:

1 Position Layout:
A yes or no question could be answered according to upright or reversed position just as a coin flip could. This layout could provide a quick overview/answer to a situation, the day, a first date, an interview, you name it and it will fit accordingly so. A one position layout can have numberless functions to the mystic and usually ends up in some form as one of constant use.

3 Position Layout:
Just as a one card layout the meanings of the positions for a three card layout are endless as well, some might use them for morning, noon and night of a day or conscious, subconscious and super-conscious thought of the self or maybe physical, spiritual and divine influences, one might even be as bold to combine all three and devise a nine card layout attaching the meanings to all nine, as stated before the possibilities are endless, let nothing restrict your imagination.

I think this is appropriate to demonstrate the ease of designing a personal layout and anybodies ability to create one. An important aspect to remember during divination and life is, Chance is only a name and coincidence should be redefined as a profound moment of clarity and connection with the Deity.
